How to Connect Dexcom Share to GlucoHome

What you'll need

• An active Dexcom G6 or G7 CGM sensor
• The Dexcom app installed on your phone with Dexcom Share enabled
• A Google account (for GlucoHome sign-in)
• 2 minutes to complete the OAuth authorization flow

Step 1: Enable Dexcom Share

Open the Dexcom app on your phone. Tap the Share icon in the bottom navigation (it looks like three people). If this is your first time using Share, you'll be prompted to set it up:

1. Tap Get Started
2. Accept the Dexcom Share terms and conditions
3. You can skip adding followers for now — GlucoHome doesn't use the follower system; it connects via the Dexcom Developer API
4. Share is now enabled on your account

Step 2: Sign in to GlucoHome

Visit glucohome.id and click Join GlucoHome or Open Dashboard on the homepage. You'll be prompted to sign in. GlucoHome uses Google OAuth for authentication — your Google account credentials are never stored by us.

Click Sign in with Google and authorize GlucoHome to use your Google profile.

Step 3: Connect your Dexcom account

Once you're signed in to GlucoHome, you'll see a prompt to connect your Dexcom. Click Connect Dexcom. You'll be redirected to the official Dexcom authorization page.

1. Enter your Dexcom username and password (the same credentials you use in the Dexcom app)
2. Dexcom will ask if you want to grant GlucoHome access to your glucose readings. Click Authorize
3. You'll be redirected back to GlucoHome automatically

Step 4: View your glucose data

Once authorization is complete, GlucoHome immediately fetches your latest glucose readings from the Dexcom API. Within a few seconds, you'll see:

• Your current glucose reading and trend arrow
• A real-time glucose chart showing the past 24 hours
• Your Time-in-Range percentage
• Predicted glucose alerts if the AI detects a potential low or high

New readings sync automatically every 5 minutes — matching the cadence of your Dexcom sensor. You don't need to manually refresh the dashboard.

What happens next?

With your Dexcom connected, GlucoHome begins building your glucose profile. Over the first few days, the AI learns your patterns and can start offering predictive insights — like alerting you when you're likely to go low in the next 30 minutes based on your current trajectory and historical data.

You can now start logging meals, tagging exercise, and exploring the AGP chart to see your glucose patterns across different times of day. If you're working with an endocrinologist, they can also access your data through the GlucoHome Provider Portal (if they've been granted access).

Troubleshooting

I don't see my glucose data after connecting
Make sure Dexcom Share is enabled in your Dexcom app. If Share is off, the Dexcom API won't return any readings. Also check that your sensor is active and transmitting — if your Dexcom app isn't showing readings, GlucoHome won't be able to fetch them either.

The connection keeps failing
Double-check that you're using the correct Dexcom username and password. If you recently changed your Dexcom password, you'll need to reconnect. Visit the GlucoHome settings page and click Reconnect Dexcom.

Can I use GlucoHome if I only have Dexcom Follow access?
Not currently. GlucoHome requires you to be the primary Dexcom account holder (the person wearing the sensor). We're exploring follower support for parents and caregivers in a future release.
